Simen was born at Huseby farm in 1782 at near the village of Ottestad Stange Parish, Hedmark, Norway.2 He was the son of Hans Simensen Saxlund and Marie Nielsdatter Saxlund. He presumably lived with his parents at Stange Parish, Hedmark, Norway, in November 1782. Simen Hansen Lundgård was baptised on Sunday, 3 November 1782 at Stange Parish, Hedmark.2 Simen Hansen Lundgård was also known as Simen Hansen Husebye (in the Norwegian tradition) when he was at this farm.3 He presumably lived with his parents at at Elton Østre farm near the village of Ottestad Stange Parish, Hedmark, Norway, in September 1785.4 He presumably lived with his parents at at Sylju farm near the village of Stange Stange Parish, Hedmark, Norway, in June 1788.5 He presumably lived with his parents at at Saxlund (or Sakslund) farm near the village of Stange Stange Parish, Hedmark, Norway, in March 1796.6 He was confirmed on Sunday, 9 October 1796 at Stange Parish, Hedmark.7

He was recorded as living with his parents and five siblings Anne, Oliv, Dorthe, Niels and Hans in the 1801 census at Stange, Stange Parish, Hedmark. He was recorded as being 19 years old.8

He married Kari Larsdatter Elton, daughter of Lars Andersen Lillehagen and Anne Thomesdatter Ottestad, on Friday, 1 November 1811 at Ottestad, Stange Parish, Hedmark, Norway..6 Simen Hansen Lundgård was a blacksmith in January 1812.9 Simen and Kari lived in February 1815 at at Vestre Schierden farm Stange Parish, Hedmark, Norway.10

Simen Hansen Lundgård and Kari Larsdatter Elton were living at Elton farm when they winessed Kari's father's estate probated at Ottestad Monday, 18 November 1816.11 Simen and Kari lived in December 1817 at Ottestad, Stange Parish, Hedmark.12 Simen and Kari lived in October 1827 at at Lundgård farm near the village of Ottestad Stange Parish, Hedmark, Norway.9 Simen and Kari lived in April 1839 at Ottestad, Stange Parish, Hedmark.13

Simen died on 22 August 1842 at Ottestad, Stange Parish, Hedmark.14 His body was interred on 2 September 1842 at Ottestad, Stange Parish, Hedmark.14
