Maria Simensdatter Lundgård was born on 18 September 1819 at at Elton Østre farm near the village of Ottestad Stange Parish, Hedmark, Norway.2 She was the daughter of Simen Hansen Lundgård and Kari Larsdatter Elton. Maria Simensdatter Lundgård was baptised on Sunday, 3 October 1819 at Stange Parish, Hedmark, Norway.2 She was confirmed on Sunday, 12 October 1834 at Stange Parish, Hedmark. It was said of her schoolwork that she was "good both for book Reading (and) Vocabulary and (?)3" She was a maid in August 1843.1
Maria died on 2 August 1843 at at Smebye farm Loten parish, Hedmark, Norway, at age 23.1
