Kari Larsdatter Elton was likely born circa 1790 at at Petlund farm near the village of Ottestad Stange Parish, Hedmark, Norway.2,3 She was the daughter of Lars Andersen Lillehagen and Anne Thomesdatter Ottestad.2 She presumably lived with her parents at Ottestad, Stange Parish, Hedmark, in March 1790.2 Kari Larsdatter Elton was baptised on Sunday, 21 March 1790 at Ottestad, Stange Parish, Hedmark, Norway.2
She was recorded as living with her parents and younger siblings Marthe, Eli and Anne in the 1801 census at at Lillehagen farm near the village of Ottestad Stange Parish, Hedmark, Norway. She was recorded as being 11 years old.4
She married Simen Hansen Lundgård, son of Hans Simensen Saxlund and Marie Nielsdatter Saxlund, on Friday, 1 November 1811 at Ottestad, Stange Parish, Hedmark..5 Kari and Simen lived in February 1815 at at Vestre Schierden farm Stange Parish, Hedmark, Norway.6
Simen Hansen Lundgård and Kari Larsdatter Elton were living at Elton farm when they winessed Kari's father's estate probated at Ottestad Monday, 18 November 1816.7 Kari and Simen lived in December 1817 at at Elton Østre farm near the village of Ottestad Stange Parish, Hedmark, Norway.8 Kari and Simen lived in October 1827 at at Lundgård farm near the village of Ottestad Stange Parish, Hedmark, Norway.9 Kari and Simen lived in April 1839 at Ottestad, Stange Parish, Hedmark.10
