Malcolm Nicholson was born on 26 January 1849 at West Kirby, Cheshire.2,3,4 He was the son of Alexander Nicholson and Martha Davies.1
He was recorded as living with his mother and older siblings Donald, Thomas, Effie, Martha and Alexander in the 1851 census at Hoose, Wirral, Cheshire. He was recorded as being just 2 years old.3
He was recorded as living with his mother and big sister Martha in the 1861 census at 22 Village Road, Hoose, Wirral, Cheshire. He was recorded as being 12 years old.5,6 His occupation was recorded as being a scholar in the census.5
His father died 25 January 1871 at the age of 62. Malcolm was aged 21 when this happened.
Malcolm Nicholson married Margaret Parr on Tuesday, 11 April 1871 at Hoose, Wirral, Cheshire.7,1
He was recorded as head of household in the 1881 census with Margaret Parr as his spouse at 8 Virginia Street, Bootle, Liverpool. He was 32 years old. His age was recorded as 49 years old. Also living in the house were four of their sons.8 His occupation was recorded as being a timekeeper in the census.8
He was recorded as head of household in the 1891 census with Margaret Parr as his spouse at 231 Marsh Lane, Bootle, Liverpool. He was 42 years old. His age was recorded as being 42 years old. Also living in the house were seven of their children aged 3 to 19.1 His occupation was recorded as being a timekeeper for S.S. Co. in the census.9
He was recorded as head of household in the 1901 census with Margaret Parr as his spouse at Bootle, Liverpool. He was 52 years old. His age was recorded as being 52 years old. Also living inthe house were four of their children aged 13 to 25.10 His occupation was recorded as being a bookkeeper (shipping) in the census.10
He was recorded as head of household in the 1911 census at 116 Whetstone Lane, Birkenhead, Cheshire. He was 62 years old. His age was recorded as being 62 years old. Also recorded as being in the house were four of his children, a neice and three grandchildren.11 His occupation was recorded as being a bookkeeper in the census.11
Malcolm may have died circa March 1917 at Birkenhead Registration District, Cheshire.12,1
