Malcolm Alexander Nicholson was born circa March 1874 at West Derby Registration District, Liverpool.1 He was the son of Malcolm Nicholson and Margaret Parr.1
He was recorded as living with his parents and brothers John, Hubert in the 1881 census at 8 Virginia Street, Bootle, Liverpool. He was recorded as being 7 years old.2 His occupation was recorded as being a scholar in the census.2
He was recorded as living with his parents and siblings John, Hubert, William, Thomas, Margaret and Arthur in the 1891 census at 231 Marsh Lane, Bootle, Liverpool. He was recorded as being 17 years old.1 His occupation was recorded as being a winch driver in the census.3
He was recorded as living with his father, four neices and nephews and siblings, Margaret, Arthur and John in the 1911 census at 116 Whetstone Lane, Birkenhead, Cheshire. He was recorded as being 37 years old.4 His occupation was recorded as being a shipping clerk in the census.4
