Anna was born circa 1847 at Richmond, Yorkshire.1 She was the daughter of James Breach and Mary Child.
She was recorded as living with her parents and siblings John, Mary, James and Samuel in the 1851 census at Wycliffe Cottage, Richmond, Yorkshire.2
She was recorded as living with her parents and her siblings Mary and Samuel in the 1861 census at Pool End Lane at Temperance Grove, Stretford, Lancashire. She was recorded as being 15 years old.3
She may have attended the wedding of her brother in the marriage of James Child Breach and Emma Miller in a Church of England ceremony at St. Peter's on Wednesday, 6 May 1868 Emma's father was a cotton mill manager at Bolton, Lancashire. Emma and James went on to have six children together.4 Anna lived in April 1871 at Alexandra Road, Moss Side, Manchester.1
She was recorded as living with her parents and siblings Mary and Samuel in the 1871 census at Moss Side, Manchester.1
Anna and Jim Darby attended the wedding of George Leonard Darby and Patty Miller in a Congregationalist ceremony at the Independent Chapel on Thursday, 5 August 1875 at Ashton upon Mersey, Sale, Cheshire. They also signed the marriage certificate as witnesses. Jemima Sarah Bond and Charles Lewis Brandreth were also there.5,6,7
She was recorded as living with her mother in the 1881 census at Hawthorn Villa in Mayfield Road, Withington, Lancashire.8
Anna Margaret Breach was recorded as a boarder in the household of James B. Neild in the 1891 census at Palatine Road, Altrincham, Cheshire.9
She was recorded as head of household in the 1901 census at 33 Keppel Road, Chorlton-cum-Hardy, Manchester. Anna was recorded as being 56 years old. Her niece Marian also lived with her.10 Her occupation was recorded as being 'living on her own means' in the census.10
