Mary A. Breach was born circa 1844 at Morton, Yorkshire.1 She was the daughter of James Breach and Mary Child.1

She was recorded as living with her parents and siblings John, James, Anna and Samuel in the 1851 census at Wycliffe Cottage, Richmond, Yorkshire.1 Mary A. Breach was a governess in April 1861.2

She was recorded as living with her parents and her siblings Anna and Samuel in the 1861 census at Pool End Lane at Temperance Grove, Stretford, Lancashire. She was recorded as being 17 years old.2

She may have attended the wedding of her brother in the marriage of James Child Breach and Emma Miller in a Church of England ceremony at St. Peter's on Wednesday, 6 May 1868 Emma's father was a cotton mill manager at Bolton, Lancashire. Emma and James went on to have six children together.3

She was recorded as living with her parents and siblings Anna and Samuel in the 1871 census at Alexandra Road, Moss Side, Manchester.4
