Parker was born on Monday, 10 May 1841 at Walton-on-the-Hill, Liverpool.2,3 He was the son of Donald Nicholson and Jane Wetherell.1
He was recorded as living with his parents, a servant and older siblings, Eliza, Jessie, Donald, Walter and Margaret in the 1841 census at Walton-on-the-Hill, Liverpool. He was recorded as being just 1 month old.4 He presumably lived with his parents at Castle Street, in Liverpool, in December 1843.5
He was recorded as living with his parents and siblings Donald, Walter and Eliza in the 1851 census at Prescot Road, West Derby, Liverpool. He was recorded as being 10 years old.6
He may have attended the wedding of his brother in the marriage of Donald Nicholson and Elizabeth Ann Medhurst in a Church of England ceremony at St. Philip's on Wednesday, 6 August 1856 at Liverpool. Elizabeth and Donald went on to have at least five children together.7,8,9 He presumably lived with his parents at 9 Chapman Street, Manchester, in July 1858.10
He was recorded as living with his parents in the 1861 census at Manchester. He was recorded as being 19 years old.11 His occupation was recorded as being a clerk in a shipping house in the census.11
Parker Nicholson married Caroline Mary Smith, daughter of W. Smith, at Spencer Street Chapel on Thursday, 24 September 1863 at Royal Leamington Spa, Warwickshire. They were 22 and 23 respectively.12,1
His mother died 8 December 1870 at the age of 68. Parker was aged 29 when this happened.
He was recorded as head of household in the 1871 census with Caroline Mary Smith as his spouse at 57 Warwick Street, Hulme, Manchester. He was 29 years old. He was recordd as being 29 years old. Also living in the house were five of their children aged 6 years to 1 month old.3 His occupation was recorded as being a clerk in a calico printing establishment in the census.3
His father died 11 February 1874 at the age of 69. Parker was aged 32 when this happened.13
His wife Caroline died 19 February 1874 at the age of 33, leaving him a widower at age 32.
Parker Nicholson married Ida Pickworth, daughter of Francis Pickworth and Ellen Tyndall, on Thursday, 10 May 1877 at Surfleet, Lincolnshire. They were 36 and 36 respectively.1
It must have been a horrible decade for Parker - in addition to his wife dying, four of his six children died in a seven year period.
He was recorded as head of household in the 1881 census with Ida Pickworth as his spouse at Irlam Road, Flixton, Lancashire. He was 39 years old. Also living in the house was his brother-in-law Frank and a servant.14 His occupation was recorded as being a clerk in a cotton warehouse in the census.14
He was recorded as head of household in the 1891 census with Ida Pickworth as his spouse at 29 Hawthorn Grove, Heaton Norris, Stockport, Cheshire. He was 49 years old.15 His occupation was recorded as being a calico printer's clerk in the census.15
He was recorded as head of household in the 1901 census with Ida Pickworth as his spouse at Heaton Norris, Stockport, Cheshire. He was 59 years old.16
Parker died on 13 January 1907 at Stockport registration district, Cheshire, at age 65 He committed suicide.1
Parker's will was probated on 18 February 1907. His estate was valued at £6,834 11s. 4d., which was assigned to a John Brown, a salesman..17
