Elizabeth Ann Medhurst was probably baptised on Friday, 3 March 1837 at Dewsbury, West Yorkshire.1,2 She was the daughter of Thomas Medhurst and Nancy Ann Cattral.1 Elizabeth Ann Medhurst was baptised at Non-conformist church on Sunday, 19 March 1837 at Dewsbury, West Yorkshire.1

She was recorded as living with her parents and siblings Richard and Jane in the 1841 census at Regent Street, St. Lawrence, York. She was recorded as being 4 years old.3

She was recorded as living with her parents and siblings Richard, Jane, Mary and Thomas in the 1851 census at 47 Gerard Street (?), Liverpool.4 Elizabeth lived in August 1856 at 16 Leander Street, Liverpool.5

She married Donald Nicholson, a book-keeper, son of Donald Nicholson and Jane Wetherell, in a Church of England ceremony at St. Philip's on Wednesday, 6 August 1856 at Liverpool. She was 19 and her husband Donald was 22.. Donald Nicholson attended as father of the groom; others who may have attended the wedding include Nancy Ann Cattral as mother of the bride, Thomas Medhurst as father of the bride and Jane Wetherell as mother of the groom. Brothers and sisters who may have attended include Walter Wetherell Nicholson and Parker Nicholson. Elizabeth and Donald went on to have at least five children together.5,2,6 She presumably lived with her spouse Donald at Crown Street, Liverpool, on 9 August 1857.7 Elizabeth and Donald lived in 1860 at 31 Myrtle Street, Liverpool.8 Elizabeth Ann Medhurst was a milliner in 1860.8

Elizabeth Ann Medhurst was recorded as the spouse of Donald Nicholson in the 1861 census at Liverpool. She was recorded as being 24 years old.. Also in the household were three of their children and a servant.9 Her occupation was recorded as being a milliner and dress maker in the census.9

Elizabeth died on 5 March 1863 at Winton, Manchester, at age 26.10,11,2 Her body was interred at Toxteth Park Cemetery on 9 March 1865 at Liverpool. She is buried in plot Sec. L, Grave 389.12
