Thomasson Hornby was born circa 1850 at the village of Turton near the town of Bolton, Lancashire.1 She was the daughter of Matthew Hornby and Elizabeth Horrocks.1
She was recorded as living with her mother and step-siblings Ann and Adam in the 1851 census at at 31 Blackburn Road in the village of Turton near the town of Bolton, Lancashire. Her husband does not seem to appear on the census.1
She was recorded as living with her mother and siblings Ann and Mary in the 1861 census at the village of Egerton near the town of Bolton, Lancashire. She was recorded as being 52 years old; also living in the house was her step-daughter, her two daughters and a family of lodgers.2 Her occupation was recorded as being a factory worker in the census.2
She was recorded as living with her parents and sister Mary in the 1871 census at Egerton, Bolton, Lancashire. She was recorded as being 21 years old.3 Thomasson Hornby was a 'doubler cotton'(?)3
