William H. Lancaster was born circa 1885.1 He was the son of Ann Lancaster.1
He was recorded as living with his mother, his step-father, his brother and his two step-siblings John, Thomas and Elizabeth in the 1891 census at 13 Stonehill Street, Liverpool. He was recorded as being 6 years old.1 His occupation was recorded as being a scholar in the census.1 As of March 1901, William H. Lancaster was also known as William Nicholson.2
He was recorded as living with his mother, his step-father, his older brother and younger step-siblings John, Thomas, Elizabeth, Donald and Hannah in the 1901 census at 9 Dawber street, Everton, Liverpool. He was recorded as being 16 years old.2 His occupation was recorded as being a greengrocer's errand boy in the census.2
