Elizabeth was born on Tuesday, 9 May 1815 at Duffus, Morayshire, Scotland.4 She was the daughter of James Jenkins and Isabella Edwards.2 Elizabeth Jenkins was baptised on Saturday, 13 May 1815 at Duffus, Morayshire.4 She may have been born circa 1817 at Burghead, Morayshire, Scotland.5 She may have been born circa 1818 at Duffus, Morayshire.2,6,7,8

Elizabeth Jenkins married John Nicholson, son of Donald Nicholson and Mary Margaret MacDougall, circa 1838.

Elizabeth Jenkins was recorded as living with John Nicholson in the 1841 census at Dalguburn Works, Cardross, Dunbartonshire, and other records indicate this was her spouse. The 1841 census only recorded adult ages rounded down to the nearest 5 years; her approximate age was recorded as 20 years old. Also living in the house were their young son James, as well as five young adults (one of whom, Agness 'Jinkins' may have been related to her)..3 She presumably lived with her spouse John at Woodland Road, Glasgow, in May 1847.9

Elizabeth Jenkins was recorded as the spouse of John Nicholson in the 1851 census at Browns Lane, Barony, Milton, Lanarkshire.7

Elizabeth Jenkins was recorded as the spouse of John Nicholson in the 1861 census at Barony, Milton, Lanarkshire. She was recorded as being 42 years old.10

Elizabeth Jenkins was recorded as the spouse of John Nicholson in the 1871 census at 5 South Woodside Road, Barony, Milton, Lanarkshire. She was recorded as being 54 years old.5

Elizabeth, as the mother of the groom, attended the wedding of John and Marion Ritchie, daughter of a mason, in a Church of Scotland ceremony on Friday, 25 February 1876 at Glasgow.. .11

Elizabeth died on 20 January 1878 at 18 West End Park Street, in Glasgow, at age 62 of bowel cancer.2
