Elizabeth Sharp was born at Cork. She was the daughter of Thomas Sharp and Elizabeth (?)2
Elizabeth Sharp married Alexander Deane, son of David Deane and Mary Kearns, at Lower Shandon Church on Sunday, 15 August 1790 at Cork.3,1
Her husband Alexander died 1806, leaving her a widow.4
However, there was a flaw with Alexander's will, which prevented Elizabeth from acquiring the properties that he owned in Cork city. It took a private act of parliament for her to gain the leases to the properties.4 Elizabeth continued the family business.4
Thomas began working for his mother Elizabeth on the death of his father at the age of 14.4
Elizabeth andThomas carried out large government contracts for the Navy on Haulbowline Island between 1816 and 1822.5,2 She is said to have taken an active role in the superintendence of the naval works which had been built for a cost of £200,000.3
Elizabeth died on 17 March 1828 at Cork.2,3,1
