Lillian Downward Westbrook was born on 12 January 1870.1 She was the daughter of Samuel John Westbrook and Jane Sangwell.1
Lillian Downward Westbrook married Alexander Sexton at Registry Office in 1886 at the Melbourne suburb of Richmond.1 Lillian Downward Westbrook and Alexander Sexton Apparently he left the Catholic faith and at the time the Seventh Day Adventist movement had come from America to hold a mission in Australia. Alexander and the pregnant Lillian joined the Seventh Day Adventist religion. Pastor Butz and his wife were expecting their first child also and hoped that it would be the first Seventh Day Adventist born in Australia, however Emma Lillian arrived on 10th February 1887 therefore becoming the first Seventh Day Adventist born in Australia.1
Lillian died in 1899 at the Melbourne suburb of South Yarra.1
