Alexander was born in 1846 at Tasmania. He was on board a vessel three days from landing.1 He In his late 30's and early 40's went into a seminary to study for the Roman Catholic priesthood. He came out to test in celibacy - and failed.1 He was Butcher in 1886.1

Alexander Sexton married Lillian Downward Westbrook, daughter of Samuel John Westbrook and Jane Sangwell, at Registry Office in 1886 at the Melbourne suburb of Richmond.1 Alexander Sexton and Lillian Downward Westbrook Apparently he left the Catholic faith and at the time the Seventh Day Adventist movement had come from America to hold a mission in Australia. Alexander and the pregnant Lillian joined the Seventh Day Adventist religion. Pastor Butz and his wife were expecting their first child also and hoped that it would be the first Seventh Day Adventist born in Australia, however Emma Lillian arrived on 10th February 1887 therefore becoming the first Seventh Day Adventist born in Australia.1 Alexander Sexton was (an unknown value) in 1907.1

Alexander died in 1936 at the Melbourne suburb of Caulfield.1
