Edith was born on Monday, 28 August 1876 at Launceston, Tasmania.3
Edith Caroline Fysh married Samuel Berjew Fooks Reid, son of William Reid and Mary Jane Fookes, on Saturday, 6 July 1907 at Launceston, Tasmania. They were 30 and 22 respectively.1,3 Edith and Samuel lived in 1915 at 'Hornsey' 9 Adelaide Street, in Launceston, Tasmania.4
Samuel had fathered a child (Dawn Kathleen) by his landlady's daughter (Jean Forrest) during a period (mid to late 1920's) when he lived in Launceston, whilst Edith and the children lived at Douglas Street, Bellerive. It is believed that the Fysh Family arranged and paid for the move to New Zealand as Sam had become a burden which the establishment Fysh family could no longer endure.4
Edith died on 8 February 1958 at Public Hospital, Timaru, Canterbury, New Zealand, at age 81.3 Her body was interred on 10 February 1958 at Temaku, Canterbury, New Zealand.3
