Martha was born circa 1879 at Trunkey Creek, New South Wales.1 She was the daughter of Henry Joseph Horsnell and Annie Molloy.
She married Donald Joseph Nicholson, a blacksmith, son of James Brown Nicholson and Lydia Horsnell, in a Roman Catholic ceremony at the Church of St. Columba on Sunday, 13 November 1910 at Wrightville, in the district of Cobar, New South Wales. Donald Nicholson, most likely Donald's uncle, attended the wedding as a witness..1 At this time her occupation was given as Machinist.1
Martha died on 14 July 1969 at the Sydney suburb of Stratfield West.2,3
