Mary Horrocks was born circa 1845 at Sharples, Bolton, Lancashire.1 She was the daughter of John Braithwaite Horrocks and Hannah Martin.1

She was recorded as living with her parents and siblings Elizabeth and Tomason in the 1851 census at 130 Blackburn Road, Sharples, Bolton, Lancashire. She was recorded as being 6 years old.1 Mary Horrocks was a scholar.1
