John Braithwaite Horrocks was baptised at Christ Church on Sunday, 9 June 1816 at the village of Walmsley near the town of Bolton-le-Moors, Lancashire.1 John lived in June 1841 at the village of Turton near the town of Bolton, Lancashire.2 His occupation was recorded as being a wheelwright in the census.3
He married Hannah Martin, daughter of a carter, daughter of Elizabeth (?), at St. Mary the Virgin on Sunday, 20 June 1841 at Deane, Bolton, Lancashire.. Both bride and groom signed their marriage certificate with a mark.2,4 John and Hannah lived in March 1849 at Sharples, Bolton, Lancashire.5
He was recorded as head of household in the 1851 census with Hannah Martin as his spouse at 130 Blackburn Road, Sharples, Bolton, Lancashire. He was 34 years old.6 His occupation was recorded as being a wheelwright in the census.6 John and Hannah lived in January 1855 at Sharples, Bolton, Lancashire.7
John died in July 1877 at Fylde Registration District, Lancashire, at age 61.8
