Thomas James Battle was born in 1881 at the Melbourne suburb of Fitzroy.1 He was the son of Charles John Battle and Mary Taylor.1
Thomas died on 28 March 1882 at Victoria.2 His body was interred at Melbourne General Cemetery at the Melbourne suburb of Carlton.2 He presumably lived with his parents at at 143 Johnston Street in the Melbourne suburb of Collingwood in November 1882. This was a wooden house of 4 rooms.3
