Phillip James Cherry was born on 16 September 1879 at Launceston, Tasmania.1
Phillip James Cherry married Amy Grace Reid, daughter of William Reid and Mary Jane Fookes, on Monday, 9 January 1905 at Westbury, Tasmania. They were 25 and 31 respectively.1 Phillip (and presumably his spouse Amy) lived in 1914 at Burnie, Tasmania.2 Phillip James Cherry was a newspaper editor.1 Phillip (and presumably his spouse Amy) lived in 1928 at North Terrace, in Burnie, Tasmania.2 Phillip lived in 1936 at Emu Bay, Tasmania.1
Phillip died on 30 December 1942 at Burnie, Tasmania, at age 63.1 He was buried on 2 January 1943 at Wivenhoe General Cemetery, in Burnie, Tasmania.1
