Eva was born circa 1876 at Hoose, Wirral, Cheshire.2 She was the daughter of Thomas Jones and Effie Nicholson.1
She was recorded as living with her mother, her mother's mother and siblings Samuel, Amy, Thomas, Martha and Ezra in the 1881 census. She was recorded as being 5 years old.2 Her occupation was recorded as being a scholar in the census.2
