George Marston Manthorpe was born on 1 January 1815 at Herringfleet, Suffolk.1,3 He was the son of William Manthorpe and Hannah Read.3
George Marston Manthorpe married Caroline Oldman at St Nicholas' on Sunday, 14 July 1850 at Great Yarmouth, Norfolk.4,3 George lived in 1851 at Somerleyton, Suffolk.1,3 His occupation was recorded as being an agricultural labourer in the census.5
He was recorded as head of household in the 1861 census with Caroline Oldman as his spouse at 3 Old Hall, Herringfleet, Suffolk. He was 46 years old. Also living in the house were his son-in-law, his daughter-in-law and his two sons.5
He was recorded as head of household in the 1871 census with Caroline Oldman as his spouse at Manthorpe's Lake, Herringfleet, Suffolk. He was 56 years old.6 His occupation was recorded as being a farm labourer in the census.6
His mother died 13 August 1872 at the age of 85 at the approximate age of 86. George was aged 57 when this happened.
His father died June 1873 at the age of 86. George was aged 58 when this happened.
George died on 21 January 1900 at Oulton, Norfolk, at age 85.3
