Maria Charlotte Smith was born on 29 January 1838 at Great Yarmouth, Norfolk.13,12 She was the daughter of James George Smith and Lydia Manthorpe.12 Maria Charlotte Smith was baptised on Sunday, 29 April 1838 at Great Yarmouth, Norfolk.13

She was recorded as living with her parents and younger brother James in the 1841 census at Market Road, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk. She was recorded as being 3 years old.14

She was recorded as living with her parents and five younger bothers James, George, Frederick, Marston and Arthur in the 1851 census at Great Yarmouth, Norfolk. She was recorded as being 13 years old.12

Maria Charlotte Smith married William Isaac Storey on Tuesday, 11 September 1860 at Great Yarmouth, Norfolk.11 Maria lived in 1861 at St Nicholas', Great Yarmouth, Norfolk.5,11

Maria was recorded as the wife of William Storey in the England 1861 census at North Market Road, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk; she was.15

Maria Charlotte Smith married James William Wade on Thursday, 5 March 1863 at Lowestoft, Suffolk. They were 25 and 25 respectively.16,17,11

She was recorded as head of household in the 1901 census at 8 Factory Square. She was 63 years old.21 She was a laundress / washerwoman.21 Maria lived in 1911 at 4 Audley Street, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk.11

Her mother died circa March 1911 at the approximate age of 93. She was recorded as doing "laundry work."22

Maria Charlotte Smith appeared in the household of her widowed daughter Maria Charlotte Lydia Wade in the 1911 census at Great Yarmouth, Norfolk. Her age was given as 73 years old, and she was no longer working.22

Maria died circa October 1927 at Great Yarmouth Registration District, Norfolk.23 Her body was interred on 17 October 1927 at Norfolk.24
