Jane was born circa June 1859 at Bury, Lancashire.2,3 She was the daughter of Robert Holt and Jane Rothwell. Jane Ellen Holt may have been born in 1861.4,5 Jane lived circa October 1882 at Rockhampton, Queensland.2
She married Henry Hugh Hill, an ironmonger, son of Henry Hugh Hill and Bridget Holmes, at St. Paul's Church of England on Wednesday, 25 October 1882 at Rockhampton, Queensland. Child of a mining family.. Jane and Henry went on to have four children together.2,6 Jane Ellen Holt was a housewife.5
Jane died on 22 August 1900 at Queensland of 'exhaustion'.7,5 Her body was interred at South Rockhampton Cemetery at Rockhampton, Queensland. She is buried in the Church of England section, Row 30 Burial No 3344.5
