Sydney was born in 1854 at London.2 He was baptised at St. George's Hanover Square at London.2 He was a farmer on 14 April 1879.3

He married Eleanor Mary Susan Berjew, daughter of John Berjew and Catherine Jane Iles Fooks, in a Church of England ceremony at St. Paul's on Monday, 14 April 1879 at Stanley, Tasmania. Eleanor was the daughter of a school master.. Brothers and sisters who may have attended include Louisa Ann Garlick Berjew, Catherine Joan Fooks Berjew and Charles Albert Thompson Fooks. Sydney and Eleanor went on to have five children together.3,2 Sydney Harnett Wragg was a labourer in January 1886.1 Sydney lived in 1919 at Burnie, Tasmania.4

Sydney died on 18 June 1937 at Spencer Hospital, in Wynyard, Tasmania.2 His body was interred at Wivenhoe General Cemetery at Burnie, Tasmania.4
