Barbara was born in 1876 at Parkes, New South Wales.1 She was the daughter of Hugh Joseph Sutherland and Margaret Nicholson. She presumably moved with her parents to Cobar, New South Wales, circa 1880.2
Her mother died 10 August 1883.3
She may have attended the wedding of her sister in the marriage of Henry Cyril Rogers and Alexandra Sutherland in a Wesleyan ceremony at the residence of Hugh Sutherland on Thursday, 16 March 1893 at Cornish Town, Cobar, New South Wales. Alexandra and Henry went on to have five known children together.4
Barbara Ann Sutherland married Edward B. Byrne in 1899 at New South Wales.5
She married William Boyd Graham, son of Thomas Henry Graham and Mary Adams, in 1902 at Sydney.. They went on to have five children together.6
Barbara died in 1960 at North Sydney.7
