Hector Boyd Graham was born in 1905 at the Sydney suburb of Paddington.2 He was the son of William Boyd Graham and Barbara Ann Sutherland.2 Hector Boyd Graham was also known as Barney.3 Hector lived from 1932 to 1994 at at 13 Bridge Street in the Newcastle suburb of Waratah, New South Wales.3

Hector Boyd Graham married Annie Newton at St. Phillips Church of England in Bridge Street on Saturday, 30 April 1932 at the Newcastle suburb of Waratah, New South Wales.3 Hector Boyd Graham was a stevedore.3

On Thursday, 12 May 1938 he saved a man from drowning in the harbour, in Newcastle, New South Wales, and for this he was awarded a bronze medal and certificate.3

In 1967 he was appointed as supervisor of the M.S.B. coal loader and the loader for Gollin & Co.3

Hector died on 7 January 1994 at Newcastle, New South Wales.1
