Simen Monsen Hestnes was born on 1 January 1758 at at Hestnes farm Stange Parish, Hedmark, Norway.1 He was the son of Mogens Mogensen Hestnes (Arstad) and Anne Nilsdatter Mostue.
Simen Monsen Hestnes married Margrete Olsdatter Gillund circa 1782.
On Saturday, 18 September 1784 Mogens's son Simen takes over Hestnes farm.2
In 1800 Simen sells Hestnes farm to Lars Mortensen.2
Simen died on 30 April 1811 at age 53.
