Harold Owen Nicholson was born circa June 1863 at Gainsborough, Lincolnshire.3,4 He was the son of Donald Nicholson and Mary Ann Jones.1
He was recorded as living with his mother, cousin and brother Victor in the 1871 census at Castle Street, Oswestry, Shropshire. He was recorded as being 7 years old.3 His occupation was recorded as being a scholar in the census.3
