Ruth was born circa 1909 at Australia.1 She was the daughter of Frank Bourne Willson and Marie Louise Loutit. Ruth's occupation was given as 'home duties' in January 1935.2 She and John Hector Willson were found on a passenger list on the 'Mariposa' on 26 January 1935 from Sydney to San Pedro, Wilmington and Los Angeles.1 Ruth Isabella Willson and John Hector Willson were found on a passenger list on the 'Mariposa' on 28 January 1935 from Sydney to San Franscisco, California.2 She lived with her father at at 8 Birriga Road in the Sydney suburb of Bellevue Hill in 1937.3
Ruth's brother John began military service circa 1941 at Greta Camp, in Greta, New South Wales.4
