Nils Nielsen was also known as Niels Nielsen.2 He may have been born in 1798 at Norway.2 He was the son of Niels Eriksen Houm and Ales Tollefsdatter Houm.1 Nils Nielsen may have been born in 1799 at Norway.3
He was recorded as living with his parents, his father's parents and four older siblings Anne, Even, Tollef and Mons in the 1801 census at at Houmb (or Houm) nedre farm Ringsaker Parish, Hedmark, Norway. He was recorded as being 2 years old.4,5 Nils Nielsen may have been confirmed on Tuesday, 29 June 1813 at Ringsaker Parish, Hedmark, Norway.2 Nils lived in December 1818 at at Angelset farm Ringsaker Parish, Hedmark, Norway. At this time, Nils was the owner of this farm.6
Nils was a sponsor at Anders Evensen Glestadeie's baptism on Sunday, 20 December 1818 at Ringsaker Parish, Hedmark.6
Nils probably became a sponsor at Even Evensen Sørum's baptism on Monday, 7 June 1824 at Ringsaker Parish, Hedmark.7
