Agnethe was born at Glestad farm on Tuesday, 30 October 1821 at near the village of Byflaten Ringsaker Parish, Hedmark, Norway. Her brother Christian was her twin.2 She was the daughter of Even Nielsen Bjørnstad and Agnete Christofersdatter Glestadeie.2 Agnethe Evensdatter Glestadeie was baptised on Sunday, 18 November 1821 at Ringsaker Parish, Hedmark, Norway.2 She presumably lived with her parents at at Åsen Nedre farm Ringsaker Parish, Hedmark, Norway, in June 1824. Their children were also likely living with them.3 She was confirmed on Sunday, 9 April 1837 at Byflaten, Ringsaker Parish, Hedmark. A remark on her confirmation certificate stated that "her knowledge is good - her diligence is ordinary."4 Agnethe Evensdatter Sørum was likely named for her aunt Agnethe Evensdatter Glestadeie. Agnethe lived in October 1865 at Byflaten, Ringsaker Parish, Hedmark.5
She married Erik Jensen Bjørnstad, on Friday, 20 October 1865 at Veldre, Ringsaker Parish, Hedmark, Norway..6
