Anne was born on Wednesday, 21 October 1891 at Australia.1,2 She was the daughter of Henry Hensell Thompson and Margaret Anne Carroll.1 Anne Thompson was also known as Nance.1 Anne Thompson was also known as Annie.1 Anne Thompson was also known as Nancy.1
Her father died 29 December 1898 at the age of 38. Anne was aged 7 when this happened. She presumably lived with her parents at at corner Reilly and Blanch streets in the Melbourne suburb of Collingwood in October 1901.3
Her mother died 7 November 1905 at the age of 41. Anne was aged 14 when this happened. She was left in the care of her sixteen year old sister. She was as a shop assistant for Foy and Gibsons.1 She moved to Sydney.1
