Rupert Ronald George Nicholson was born circa September 1881 at Wirral, Cheshire.3 He was the son of Thomas Nicholson and Elizabeth Roberts.3
He was recorded as living with his parents and brother Thomas in the 1891 census at Marmion Road, Hoose, Wirral, Cheshire. He was recorded as being 9 years old. The Nicholson house was located next to Thomas' sister Effie's house, and in the same street as his son Peter's.4 His occupation was recorded as being a scholar in the census.4
He was recorded as living with her mother and older siblings, Martha and Amy in the 1901 census at 19 Marmion Road, Hoose, Wirral, Cheshire. He was recorded as being 19 years old.5 His occupation was recorded as being a plasterer's apprentice in the census.5
He was recorded as living with his mother and older siblings, Thomas and Amy in the 1911 census at Hoose, Wirral, Cheshire. He was recorded as being 29 years old.6 His occupation was recorded as being a plasterer in the census.6
