Elizabeth Roberts was born on 13 August 1837 at Hoose, Wirral, Cheshire.2,3,4

Elizabeth Roberts married Thomas Nicholson, son of Alexander Nicholson and Martha Davies, in June 1858 at West Derby Registration District, Liverpool. They were 20 and 21 respectively.5,6

Elizabeth Roberts was recorded as the spouse of Thomas Nicholson in the 1861 census at 1 The Green, Little Meols[e], West Kirby, Cheshire. She was recorded as being 24 years old. Also visiting the house was her eight year old sister. Her husband was not actually recorded in the census, presumably as he was out fishing.2 Her occupation was recorded as being a fisherman's wife in the census.2

Elizabeth Roberts was recorded as the spouse of Thomas Nicholson in the 1871 census. She was recorded as being 34 years old. Her husband was not shown; again, he was probably working.7

Elizabeth Roberts was recorded as the spouse of Thomas Nicholson in the 1881 census at Alfred Street, Hoose, Wirral, Cheshire. She was recorded as being 37 years old. Also in the household were five of their children aged 5 to 17.8

Elizabeth Roberts was recorded as the spouse of Thomas Nicholson in the 1891 census at Marmion Road, Hoose, Wirral, Cheshire. She was recorded as being 54 years old. The Nicholson house was located next to Thomas' sister Effie's house, and in the same street as his son Peter's. Also living in the house were two of their sons.9

She was recorded as head of household in the 1901 census at 19 Marmion Road, Hoose, Wirral, Cheshire. She was 63 years old. Also living in the house were three of her children.10

She was recorded as head of household in the 1911 census at Hoose, Wirral, Cheshire. She was 73 years old.11 Her occupation was recorded as being a midwife in the census.11

Elizabeth died circa December 1926 at Wirral, Cheshire.12,1
