Mary Nicholson may have been baptised on Sunday, 16 February 1800 at Ulverston, Lancashire.1,2 She was the daughter of Donald Nicholson and Ann Metcalf.1
She married Thomas Goodwin, on Sunday, 5 July 1818 at Walton-on-the-Hill, Liverpool..3,1
She may have attended the wedding of her brother in the marriage of Donald Nicholson and Jane Wetherell in a Church of England ceremony at St. Michael in the Hamlet on Monday, 17 May 1824 at Aigburth, Liverpool. Jane and Donald went on to have some 12 children together, seven of whom lived to adulthood.4
