Francis Augustine Fookes was born on 15 December 1868 at Perth, Tasmania.2,3,1 He was the son of Rev. Samuel Berjew Fookes and Louisa Jean Hobkirk.1 Francis Augustine Fookes was baptised at St. Andrew's Anglican Church on Sunday, 24 January 1869 at Perth, Tasmania.4

On 15 November 1872 his brother Arthur died at the age of 5 killed by the kick of a horse in a paddock adjoining their home in Perth, Tasmania.5,6,7

His father died 2 November 1892 at the age of 70. Francis was aged 23 when this happened.

Francis Augustine Fookes married Emillie Shortland in 1901 at Sydney.4 Francis (and presumably his spouse Emillie) lived in 1933 at at 'Audley' napier Street in the Sydney suburb of Maroubra.4

Francis died on 21 April 1934 at the Melbourne suburb of Prahran at age 65.4 His body was interred at Queensborough Cemetery at Sandy Bay, Hobart.4
