Catherine Ann O'Reilly was born on 18 February 1863 at Port Denison, Queensland.3 She was the daughter of Henry Ernest LeClerc O'Reilly and Catherine Anne Mahoney.2
She married Daniel Malcolm McBean Nicholson, a labourer from a Scottish carpenter's family, son of Donald Nicholson and Margaret Brown, at Tambo Court House on Tuesday, 16 March 1886 at Tambo, Queensland. She was 23 and her husband Daniel was 27. When Catherine married outside of the Church she and her family were never acknowledged by either of her parents... Catherine and Daniel went on to have seven children together.4,5 Catherine Ann O'Reilly was a dressmaker.2
Catherine died on 7 June 1902 at Kyuna, Queensland, at age 39.2 She was buried on 8 June 1902 at Kyuna Cemetery, in Kyuna, Queensland.2 Catherine Ann O'Reilly only recalls seeing her father Daniel Malcolm McBean Nicholson once, just before she turned 21.2
