William was born in 1757 at Cork.1,3 He was the son of David Deane and Mary Kearns.2
William Deane and his uncle Kennedy were 'all but eye witnesses' to the sinking of HMS Royal George and the loss of more than 800 lives at Spithead Anchorage, Dartmouth, Devon.4 According to Thomas Manly Deane interviewed in the Irish Builder (Feb 1801),William was a friend of Captain Cook 'who invited him to sail with him on his last voyage, but unfortunately for him, as he was about to be married at the time, he was unable to accept'.4,5
William Deane married Susanna Jervis at Christ Church in 1784 at Cork.4,5 William Deane was a builder and architect.4
William and Susanna Jervis became the parents of Kyrl Allen Deane circa 1803 at Cork.6,7
William may have died on 16 October 1810 at Cork.8,3,7
William may have died in January 1814.4 His body was perhaps interred at St. Paul's on 18 January 1814 at Cork, Ireland.4
