William was born on Sunday, 27 December 1874 at the Melbourne suburb of Richmond.4 He was the son of William Reaby and Margaret Sergeant.2,3

He married Charlotte Amelia Oaten, daughter of Charles Oaten and Harriet Louisa Roberts, at her uncle's house at 'Eurobin' Myamym Street on Wednesday, 12 December 1900 at the Melbourne suburb of Malvern. He was 25 and his wife Charlotte was 26. Charlotte was the daughter of a Collingwood drayman.. William and Charlotte went on to have nine children together.5,6,7 William Charles H. Reaby was an ironmoulder in 1909.8 William and Charlotte lived in 1909 at at 15 Mary Street in the Melbourne suburb of Coburg.8

In Charles Oaten's will Charlotte Amelia Oaten and William Charles H. Reaby were named joint executors by Charles to handle his estate on 18 April 1913. No real estate but property worth £2,761 in the form of 32.2% share of his brother Henry's estate..9 William Charles H. Reaby was a clerk in 1914.10 William and Charlotte lived in 1914 at at Munro Street in the Melbourne suburb of Coburg.10 William Charles H. Reaby was an accountant in May 1914.9

The will of Charles Oaten, in which Charlotte Amelia Oaten and William Charles H. Reaby were named joint executors by Charles was probated on 26 May 1914.9 William Charles H. Reaby was a warehouse manager in 1919.11 William and Charlotte lived in 1919 at at Wimbourne Avenue in the Melbourne suburb of Chelsea.11

On 12 December 1925 William Charles H. Reaby and Charlotte Amelia Oaten celebrated their silver wedding anniversary on 12 December 1925:
"REABY-OATEN. - [Silver Wedding.] - On the 12th December, 1900 at Eurobin, Myamyn street, Malvern, the residence of bride's uncle, by the Rev. T. Fairbairn, William Charles, eldest son of the late William and Margaret Reaby, of Burnley street, Burnley, to Charlotte (Lottie), only daughter of the late Charles and Harriet Oaten. (Present address, Eurobin, Wimbourne avenue, Chelsea.)7"

It has been claimed William swindled monies out of a trust fund, set up by his father-in-law Charles Oaten for the protection of his grandchildren.12 William Charles H. Reaby was a groom in 1936.13 William and Charlotte lived in 1936 at at 79 Claremont Avenue in the Melbourne suburb of Gardiner.13 William and Charlotte lived in 1949 at at 21 Westgarth Street in the Melbourne suburb of Malvern.14

William died in 1959 at the Melbourne suburb of Dandenong.4,3
