Kate was born on Thursday, 13 October 1853 at Impression Bay (now Premaydena), Tasman Penninsula, Tasmania.1,2,3 She was the daughter of Rev. Samuel Berjew Fookes and Margaret Sarah Westbrook. As of November 1853, Kate Louisa Fooks was also known as Kate Louise.4 She presumably lived with her parents at Impression Bay (now Premaydena), Tasman Penninsula, Tasmania, in 1854.5

Kate died on 11 February 1854 at Impression Bay (now Premaydena), Tasman Penninsula, Tasmania.6,7,8 She was buried at St. George's Anglican Church, in Sorrell, Tasmania.9,10
