Frederick Sharp Oaten was born on 28 July 1831 at Bishop's Hull, Somerset.2,1 He was the son of Charles Sharp and Maria Anne Oaten.1 He was born out of wedlock.3 Frederick Sharp Oaten may have been baptised on Sunday, 14 August 1831 at Pitminster, Somerset.2,1 He was probably baptised on Wednesday, 24 August 1831 at Pitminster, Somerset.2,1

Frederick Sharp Oaten married Mary Ann Spiller, daughter of James Spiller and Hannah (?), in 1851 at Taunton, Somerset.1

He married Hannah Atkins, daughter of Henry Atkins and Anna (?), in 1875 at Taunton, Somerset. Frederick's second wife Anna was previously married to James Colman and her maiden name is not known...1

Frederick died in 1890 at Taunton, Somerset.2,1
