Marte Svensdatter Vålen

Marte Svensdatter Vålen was born circa 1654 at at Vålen farm Gausdal Parish, Oppland, Norway.¹ She was the daughter of Sven Stenersen Vålen and Anne Akselsdatter Melby.^2,3

She married Christen Iversen Mostue, son of Iver Olsen Forset and Sophie Christensdatter Forset, circa 1678. Marte and Christen lived circa 1680 at at Mostue Nedre farm Stange Parish, Hedmark, Norway. Around circa 1680 the family must have moved to Stange Parish, Hedmark, as Christen became the owner of this farm around 1685.^4,5 Marte Svensdatter Vålen may also have been known as Marte Svensdatter Mostue Nedre (in the Norwegian tradition) when she was at this farm.

On 19 August 1720 Marte Svensdatter Vålen and Christen Iversen Mostue on Monday, 19 August 1720 Christen and Marte transferred their share of Stange Parish, Hedmark, to their son Nils. at Stange Parish, Hedmark. They attested to the validity of Christen Iversen Mostue's will on 12 January 1734.⁴

Marte died on 14 November 1734 at Stange Parish, Hedmark.¹ Her body was interred at Stange Parish, Hedmark, Norway.⁷

Her will was probated on 10 January 1735.⁸
