Syverine was born on Monday, 2 April 1860 at Ringsaker Parish, Hedmark, Norway.2 She was the daughter of Even Evensen Sørum and Lisbeth Simensdatter Lundgård.1 Syverine Evensdatter Glestadeie was baptised on Thursday, 17 May 1860 at Ringsaker Parish, Hedmark.2

She was recorded as living with her parents and siblings Agnethe, Karen, Even and Christian in the 1865 census at at Sveum farm Ringsaker Parish, Hedmark, Norway. She was recorded as being 6 years old.1 She presumably lived with her parents at at Sørum farm near the town of Ringsaker Parish, Hedmark, Norway, on 1 June 1867. Their children were also likely living with them.3

At the age of 10 Syverine emigrated from Christiania (now Oslo), Norway, on 27 April 1870 on the "Josephine" with her family.4,5 Syverine arrived at Quebec, Canada, on 22 June 1870 with her family.4,5
Syverine Evensdatter Glestadeie was also known as Sarah.

She married Irvin Nelson West, on Monday, 4 July 1881 at La Crosse, La Crosse County, Wisconsin..6

Syverine died on 12 July 1954 at Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota, U.S.A., at age 94.7 Her body was interred at Lakewood Cemetery on 12 July 1954 at Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota, U.S.A.8
