George Robert Harriss was born on 5 January 1843 at New South Wales.3,4 He was the son of Jonathan Harris and Ann Grubb.3 After his father was convicted of robbery, George was likely raised by his mother and William Olliver. He was baptised on Sunday, 5 November 1848 at Gunning, New South Wales. However, he was baptised with the surname of his step father, William Olliver.3
He married Bridget Burren, in 1864 at Goulburn, New South Wales..5
George died on 31 January 1910 at Sydney at age 67.2,6 His body was interred at Rookwood Cemetery (Church of England section) in February 1910 at the Sydney suburb of Rookwood. PLOT Anglican sect T grave 9751.2
