Samuel Nicholson may have been born circa 1820.1 He was the son of James Nicholson and Margaret McDonald.1 Samuel Nicholson may have been born in 1823 at Tote, Inverness-shire, Scotland.2 As of March 1841, Samuel Nicholson was also known as Samuel Nicolson.3
He was recorded as living with his parents, a visitor (perhaps his grandfather) and siblings William, Flora, Charles, Mary, Margaret and Isabella in the 1841 census at Duntulm, Kilmuir, Inverness-shire, Scotland. He was recorded as being 15 years old.3
His mother died before March 1851.
Samuel Nicholson married Catherine Murchison circa 1855.4
Samuel died before 4 September 1866.1
