She was born in 1867 at the Melbourne suburb of Emerald Hill.1
Elizabeth Burke married Thomas Hamilton Battle, son of John Charles Battle and Lucy Young, in 1889 at Victoria.1 Elizabeth and Thomas lived in 1898 at at 170 Easey Street in the Melbourne suburb of Collingwood. They lived in a wooden house they owned.3 Elizabeth and Thomas lived in 1912 at at 176 Easey Street in the Melbourne suburb of Collingwood.4 Elizabeth's occupation was given as 'home duties' in 1912.4 Elizabeth and Thomas lived in 1916 at Collingwood.5
Her husband Thomas died 8 July 1928 at the age of 68, leaving her a widow.6
Thomas Hamilton Battle was remembered in death by family :
Elizabeth lived in August 1940 at Collingwood.7
Elizabeth died on 29 August 1940.1 She was buried on 31 August 1940 at at Booroondara General Cemetery in the Melbourne suburb of Kew.1
Her will was probated in October 1940.7
