Emanuel Oldman was baptised at Somerleyton, Suffolk.1 He was born circa 1846.1 Emanuel Oldman was listed as a son-in-law in the 1861 census with George and Caroline Manthorpe, his sister(?) Mary Ann, and two the Manthorpe children at 3 Old Hall, Herringfleet, Suffolk.1

Emanuel Oldman married Eliza Reamsby on Thursday, 23 April 1868 at Herringfleet, Suffolk.2

He was recorded as living with George Manthorpe and his wife Caroline (who may have been his mother), his two twin boys, and some of the Manthorpe children. in the 1871 census at Manthorpe's Lake, Herringfleet, Suffolk.3 Emanuel Oldman was a farm labourer.3
