Adeline Jane Fooks was born on 30 January 1843 at North Adelaide.1 She was the daughter of William Samuel Fooks and Maria Jane Richardson.1

She married Thomas Watson, a fisherman, in a Church of England ceremony at St. Peter's on Thursday, 1 October 1857 at Melbourne. On the marriage record Adeline is shown as 21 years of age. The registration of her death shows her to have been married at 17 years of age. The marriage register dates the marriage as on first day of October 1857. Her birth registration quite clearly is dated 30 January 1843. Was Adeline only 14 years of age when she married?..1

Adeline died on 23 January 1923 at Rodman Street, in Port Melbourne, at age 79 her cause of death was specified as senility.2,1 Her body was interred at Booroondara General Cemetery on 25 January 1923 at the Melbourne suburb of Kew.3
